Av Hiking Time: 5.5 - 6 hours.

Be prepared for: River crossings, Elandsbos and Lottering rivers at hightide..
You cross the Geelhoutbos river to start the day, and follow the rocky coastline to Elandsbos river.
Be prepared to get wet at this crossing (dependent on recent rains) and a tricky climb on the other side.
If you thought you completed all the hill climbing on day 2, think again... there are still one or two tough hills to go on all of the remaining days.
The Lottering river is at the end of the day, at the bottom of quite a steep decent climb. As with all river crossings, be aware of high and low tides and always try cross at low tide. Although the crossing at the Lottering river is a way back from the river mouth, a crossing at high tide would be tricky, especially after a long day on the trail.
Tips for Day 3:
- Keep your costume and sandals (wet shoes) close to hand for the crossings.
- When at the top of hills try for cell phone reception to phone loved ones.
- Keep an eye out for passing dolphins and whales at the Oakhurst Huts. (they are right on the waters edge).
