OTTER TRAIL CHECK OUT

Please note that Sanparks requires you to sign out after the final day's hike. You do this at the Natures Valley Rest Camp, De Vasselot and collect your Certificate .

FOAM WARNING

On 17th April 2014, sections of the Otter Trail were covered in foam. Thought to be a result of the recent red tide, hikers had quite a challenge following the trail.

"I was the only one who got my camera out, the rest was packed away in waterproof bags. The next photo was taken when I was out of the foam and the rest near the end. The actual “chain” dissolved by then. A rope would have helped, but not much as we helped each other to balance on the rocks underneath."
